Red Bee - Holle Organic Fruit Puree Pouch, Apple with Strawberry, from the 8th month
Red Bee is a Holle organic fruit puree pouch for babies from the 8th month. It is apple with strawberry and nothing else, in a resealable 100 g pouch. The fruit is Demeter grade, the biodynamic tier above EU Organic, and Holle declares the pouch gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan and made with no added sugar.
Two ingredients. That is the whole appeal of this one: it is the shortest list in the pouch range, so there is nothing in it to work out and nothing hidden behind a percentage. Apple is the bulk and the body, strawberry is the flavor and the color, and no water, thickener, starch, grain or juice concentrate has been added to either.
Strawberry is the reason it is an 8-month pouch. Berries are usually introduced a little later than apple and pear, and Holle places this one in the later stages of weaning rather than at the start. If your baby has already had apple on its own, strawberry is the single new thing in the pouch, which makes it an unusually clean introduction to a berry.
It is also the pouch most babies take without any persuasion. Strawberry is a flavor children recognize and reach for, and because it is unsweetened the taste is the fruit rather than a syrup. Holle states the pouch contains no added sugar, footnoted to say it naturally contains sugars, which are the apple's and the strawberry's own.
Both fruits carry Demeter, Holle's biodynamic certification, which sets stricter rules than organic on soil, composting and the farm as a whole. The main ingredients are grown in Italy, which Holle prints on the pack. The pouch is resealable, the packaging is BPA-free, the cap is recyclable, and unopened it needs no refrigeration, so as an organic baby snack it travels without a cool pack.

Where it fits
Where this pouch sits in the weaning day
Holle suggests this one three ways: as part of a filling breakfast, as a snack between meals, or as a simple pudding. All three hold, because it is fruit and nothing but fruit and so does not have to be fitted around a grain or a dairy portion.
From the 8th month it works best as the fruit course rather than the meal. A pouch of unsweetened fruit puree is a useful thing to have in a bag, but at this age most of what a baby needs is still coming from milk and from cooked meals, and a pouch sits alongside those rather than replacing one.
Because the list is two items long, this is also the pouch to reach for when you are trying to work out what disagreed with your baby. There is nothing in it to be the culprit except apple, strawberry, or the fact of a berry being new. Pouches with four or five ingredients cannot tell you that.
If this would be your baby's first berry
Give it on a day when nothing else is new, and give a small amount first. Berries are among the fruits usually introduced later in weaning, and a two-ingredient pouch is the clearest way to see how your baby takes one. If you would rather start on something milder, Apple Ant, apple with banana and pear has no berry in it.
Serving and storage
How to serve it, and how to store it once opened
Spoon it out, do not let your baby suck on the pouch
Holle's own note on this pouch is to use a spoon to feed the puree and not to let a child suck on the pouch continuously, because prolonged sucking on a sweet puree is what causes tooth decay. Keep the cap out of reach of children, because a cap this size is a choking hazard. The pouch needs no cooking, no water and no warming.
Once opened, this pouch keeps in the fridge for 2 days. Unopened it is shelf-stable, which is the point of a pouch: it travels in a changing bag without a cool pack.

1
Check the pouch first
Look it over before you open it. The cap should be sealed and the pouch should be firm rather than puffed. If it has been punctured in a bag, do not use it.
2
Shake it, then unscrew the cap
A puree can separate slightly as it stands. A short shake before you open it evens out the texture and saves you stirring the bowl.
3
Squeeze it into a bowl
Squeeze out the portion you want rather than feeding from the spout. That is how Holle writes it, and it also lets you see how much your baby has actually taken.
4
Put the cap somewhere safe
The screw cap is small enough to be a choking hazard, and Holle states it should be kept out of reach of children. It goes on the counter, not on the tray.
5
Spoon-feed at your baby's pace
Offer it from the spoon and let your baby set the speed. A pouch fed by squeezing goes down far faster than a baby would take it from a spoon, which is the habit the tooth-decay note is about.
6
Refrigerate or discard the rest
Cap what is left, put it in the fridge, and use it within 2 days. Do not keep a pouch your baby has fed directly from.

Keep the cap out of reach. It is a small part and Holle calls it out specifically. Use a spoon to feed this puree, and do not let your child suck on the pouch continuously, because that is what causes tooth decay. Do not use a pouch that is swollen, leaking or past its date.

These are the percentages Holle publishes for Red Bee on its own site. An earlier revision of this pouch declared 82 percent apple with 18 percent strawberry; the two ingredients are unchanged and both revisions are apple-led and Demeter. Questions parents ask
Frequently asked questions
From what age can my baby have Red Bee?
From the 8th month, which is the age on this product and the age Holle publishes for it. Berries are normally introduced later in weaning than apple and pear, which is why it sits here.
How much is in the pouch?
Each pouch holds 100 g, and the weight printed on the back of the pouch governs.
What exactly is in it?
Apple and strawberry, and nothing else. No water, no thickener, no starch, no grain, no juice concentrate and no additive appears in the declaration.
Is it gluten-free?
Yes. Holle declares this pouch gluten-free, and there is no cereal of any kind in the ingredient list.
Does it contain added sugar?
No sugar is added. Holle states no added sugar and footnotes that the pouch contains naturally occurring sugars, which come from the two fruits.
Why might the percentages on my pouch differ from the ones on this page?
Holle has revised the ratio over time. This page gives Holle's current declaration, apple 90 percent with strawberry 10 percent; an earlier revision of the pouch declared 82 and 18. The two ingredients are the same either way, and the panel printed on your pouch is the one that governs.
Can my baby feed straight from the pouch?
Holle's instruction is to use a spoon and not to let a child suck on the pouch continuously, because prolonged sucking on a sweet puree is what causes tooth decay. Squeeze it into a bowl and spoon it.
Is it vegan?
Yes. Holle lists this pouch as vegan and declares it lactose-free. There is no milk, egg or honey in it.
Written from Holle's own published product page for Red Bee - Apple with strawberry, which is the source of truth for this recipe and which gives the apple 90 percent and strawberry 10 percent declaration published above, together with the 8-month age, the Demeter certification and the gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan declarations. The storage and feeding notes are the declarations printed on the pouch. The age is taken from the product itself. The net weight is 100 g per pouch. Last reviewed 18 October 2026.
