HiPP Children's Muesli Crunchy Dinos Wild Berry, 300 g, from 3 years
HiPP Crunchy Dinos Wild Berry is an organic children's muesli for children from 3 years, in a 300 g pack. It is a crunchy cluster muesli built on 59 percent wholegrain oat flakes with 3 percent freeze-dried berries, chicory root fiber and dinosaur-shaped cereal pieces. HiPP states it carries 30 percent less sugar than other children's mueslis. It is made to the EU organic standard, with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
This is the older end of the HiPP muesli range, and it behaves differently from the baby mueslis below it. A crunchy muesli is a clustered, toasted cereal rather than a soft flake, so it holds its bite in milk instead of softening into a porridge. That is a texture for a child with a full set of teeth and the patience to chew, which is why HiPP puts it at 3 years rather than at 12 or 15 months.
The grain is the bulk of it. Wholegrain oat flakes at 59 percent lead the declaration, with a 5 percent cereal extrudate of wheat flour and rice flour colored by carrot, apple and blackcurrant concentrate, which is what forms the dinosaur shapes. Puffed rice and cornflakes fill out the mix. Wheat and oats both carry gluten.
The berry element is a 3 percent mixture of freeze-dried berries: blueberry, strawberry and raspberry. Freeze-drying is what lets real berry pieces sit in a dry pack without going soft, and at 3 percent they are a scattering rather than a base. There is also grated coconut in the declaration.
On sugar this pack is worth reading carefully, because it is different from the baby mueslis. The declaration carries tapioca syrup, apple syrup and corn syrup in the cornflakes, which are added sugars. HiPP does not claim there is no added sugar here. What it claims is a comparison: 30 percent less sugar than other children's mueslis. That is a real reduction against the category and we pass it on as HiPP states it, but it is not the same as the no-added-sugar packs lower down the range. There is also sea salt in the cornflakes.
It also carries fiber from chicory root, which is the ingredient that gives a crunchy muesli its body without more grain. HiPP makes no health claim for it on this pack and neither do we.

Where it fits
Where this one sits in a child's day
Breakfast, or a snack out of the pack. A crunchy muesli is a breakfast cereal in the ordinary family sense, made up with milk or stirred through yogurt, and it also works dry by the handful, which is how most of a 300 g pack tends to disappear.
The 3 year age is the thing to respect rather than work around. A clustered, toasted muesli with whole oat flakes and freeze-dried berry pieces asks for proper chewing, and it is a harder texture than anything in HiPP's baby range. It is not a food to move a toddler onto early because the pack looks appealing.
Where it genuinely helps is the transition out of baby food. By 3 a child is eating what the family eats, and a muesli that is organic, grain-led and reduced in sugar against the category is a reasonable thing to have in the cupboard instead of a standard children's cereal. That is the comparison HiPP is making, and it is the right one.
A note on the age, and on sugar
Two things to hold in mind. The age on this product is 3 years, and the texture is the reason: this is a crunchy cluster cereal, not a soft flake. And unlike HiPP's baby mueslis, this pack does contain added sugars, in the form of tapioca syrup, apple syrup and the corn syrup in its cornflakes. HiPP's claim is 30 percent less sugar than other children's mueslis, which is a comparison rather than an absence. Both facts are worth knowing before you treat it as interchangeable with a 12 month muesli.
Preparation
How to serve it
Milk, yogurt, or dry from the pack
There is nothing to cook. HiPP presents this muesli as prepared with milk or yogurt, and also as a dry snack. We have not been able to verify a published per-bowl quantity for this pack, so we do not print one, and we have not carried a measure across from HiPP's baby mueslis, because those belong to their own packs and to much younger children.
1
Decide milk, yogurt or dry
All three are how HiPP presents the pack. Milk gives the familiar cereal bowl, yogurt makes it a thicker breakfast, and dry is the lunchbox or the car.
2
Measure what suits your child
Pour the amount your child will actually eat rather than filling a bowl. No published portion for this pack could be verified, so judgement rather than a printed figure is what you have.
3
Add the milk or yogurt
Stir it through. The clusters hold their crunch for a while, so there is no need to serve it the second it is made up.
4
Serve it while it is still crunchy
Left to stand, a crunchy muesli softens like any other. If your child prefers it soft, that is a matter of waiting rather than of doing anything different.
5
Supervise a dry handful
Eaten dry, clusters and whole oat flakes need chewing. Children eat them perfectly well at this age, but a child should be sitting down rather than running about with a handful.
6
Close the pack and keep it dry
Close it after each use and store it in a dry place at room temperature. Crunch is the whole point of this pack and it is the first thing moisture takes away.
This pack is for children from 3 years. The texture is the reason: clustered, toasted cereal with whole oat flakes and freeze-dried berry pieces asks for proper chewing. Children should sit down to eat it and be supervised, as with any firm food. HiPP also asks across its children's range that you ensure a balanced diet, a healthy lifestyle and regular dental care. If you are unsure whether your child is ready, ask your pediatrician rather than going by the pack design.
Who it is for
Is this the right muesli for your child?
This pack sits apart from the rest of the HiPP muesli range on two counts, age and sugar, so it is worth checking against both rather than assuming it behaves like its siblings.
Your child
Is this the pack
Why
Under 3 years
No
The age on this product is 3 years, and the crunchy cluster texture is the reason.
3 years or older
Yes
The texture and the portion size suit a child with a full set of teeth.
Avoiding added sugar entirely
No
Tapioca syrup, apple syrup and corn syrup are in the declaration. HiPP claims a 30 percent reduction, not an absence.
Avoiding gluten
No
Wholegrain oat flakes and wheat flour are both declared, and HiPP flags cereals containing gluten.
Avoiding nuts, peanuts or sesame
No
HiPP flags peanuts, tree nuts and sesame for this product.
Avoiding milk or soy
No
HiPP flags milk including lactose, and soy. Soy lecithin is in the cornflakes.
The age on this page is the age carried by this product. Always raise a family history of food allergy with your pediatrician, and read the panel on the pack you have.
Ingredients and allergens
What is in it
A long allergen list: gluten, milk, peanuts, soy, tree nuts and sesame
HiPP flags all six for this product: milk including lactose, cereals containing gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts and sesame. That is a wider list than most of the HiPP range and it is the first thing to check if anything is being avoided in your household. No free-from claim of any kind is made for this product.
The allergy advice as it stands on this product: HiPP flags the following allergens for this product: milk (including lactose), cereals containing gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts and sesame. Always check the panel printed on the box.
* from organic farming. This declaration comes from an authorized European retailer listing for this product rather than from our own pack transcription, because HiPP's own shop page for it cannot be read by our tools. Always check the panel printed on the box you have, because that is the declaration that governs.
Three of the items in that list are sugars: tapioca syrup, apple syrup and the corn syrup inside the cornflakes. The cornflakes also carry sea salt. We name them because a parent comparing this pack with HiPP's no-added-sugar baby mueslis should know the difference.
Chicory root fiber is declared. HiPP makes no health claim for it on this pack, so neither do we.
Read plainly, that is a wholegrain oat base at nearly 60 percent, three syrups, a vegetable oil, chicory fiber, two shaped cereal components, real freeze-dried berries at 3 percent and coconut. It is a children's breakfast cereal built to organic standards rather than a baby food.

Portions
How far a 300 g pack goes
This needs a per-bowl quantity, and HiPP does not publish one for this pack in anything we can verify. So there is no bowl count on this page.
What we can say is that 300 g is the largest pack in the HiPP muesli range, half again as big as the 200 g children's mueslis, which reflects the fact that a 3 year old eats more than a toddler. A standard adult cereal portion is in the 30 to 45 g range; if that is roughly what your child takes, a 300 g pack is somewhere between seven and ten bowls. We present that as your own arithmetic rather than as a figure from HiPP.

Questions parents ask
Frequently asked questions
From what age can my child have it?
From 3 years, which is the age carried by this product. The reason is texture: this is a clustered, crunchy muesli with whole oat flakes and freeze-dried berry pieces, which is firmer than anything in HiPP's baby range.
Does it contain added sugar?
Yes. Tapioca syrup, apple syrup and the corn syrup in its cornflakes are all in the declaration. HiPP's claim for this pack is that it carries 30 percent less sugar than other children's mueslis, which is a comparison against the category rather than a statement that no sugar is added. That makes it different from HiPP's baby mueslis, which are no-added-sugar packs.
What does 30 percent less sugar mean?
It is HiPP's own comparison against other children's mueslis. We reproduce it as HiPP states it. We have not printed a sugar figure in grams, because no verified nutrition panel for this pack could be sourced.
Is it gluten-free?
No. Wholegrain oat flakes and wheat flour are both declared, and HiPP flags cereals containing gluten for this product.
What allergens does it carry?
HiPP flags six: milk including lactose, cereals containing gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts and sesame. That is a wider list than most of the HiPP range, so check it carefully.
How do I serve it?
With milk, stirred through yogurt, or dry from the pack. All three are how HiPP presents it. We have not printed a portion size, because no verified per-bowl measure for this pack could be sourced.
What are the dinosaur shapes made of?
The 5 percent cereal extrudate: wheat flour and rice flour with carrot, apple and blackcurrant concentrate. The concentrates are what color them, rather than any added color.
What is the chicory root fiber for?
It is declared as an ingredient and it gives a crunchy muesli body without more grain. HiPP makes no health claim for it on this pack, so neither do we.
How many bowls does a pack make?
We have not published a figure, because no per-bowl measure for this pack could be verified. At a usual 30 to 45 g cereal portion a 300 g pack works out somewhere between seven and ten bowls, but that is your arithmetic rather than HiPP's figure.
Written from the age, pack size, allergen advice and product statements carried by this product, together with the ingredient declaration published for it by an authorized European retailer, because HiPP's own shop page for this product cannot be read by our tools. From this product: the 3 year age, the 300 g pack, HiPP's 30 percent less sugar comparison against other children's mueslis, the EU organic certification, the absence of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives, the wholegrain oat and freeze-dried berry composition, the chicory root fiber, the dinosaur shapes, preparation with milk or yogurt or dry, and the six flagged allergens of milk including lactose, cereals containing gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts and sesame. The 3 year age is corroborated by a German retailer listing of the same product. One European retailer listing instead gives this product from 15 months; the age on this product governs and that lower figure has not been used. The syrups and the sea salt are named because they are in the declaration and because they distinguish this pack from the no-added-sugar baby mueslis. No health claim is made for the chicory root fiber, because none is made for it on the pack. No nutrition table and no per-bowl measure could be sourced for this pack, so no sugar figure in grams and no bowls-per-pack figure appears. Last reviewed 24 October 2026.
