What is HiPP Organic Apple & Grape Juice?

This is a 100% organic fruit juice for babies from 4 months and for adults, made from low-acid apple juice at 77% and low-acid white grape juice at 23%, with vitamin C. There is no added sugar, and the bottle is 500 ml.

Two things set a baby juice apart from the carton in the supermarket. The first is that both juices here are low in acid, which is the whole reason this one is suitable so early — a baby's stomach and a baby's mouth handle a de-acidified juice far better than a sharp one. The second is that it is 100% fruit juice: there is no water, no sweetener and no sugar added to make up the volume.

The blend is deliberate. Apple carries most of it and keeps the flavor familiar and mild. White grape juice rounds it out and makes it naturally sweeter than apple alone, which is why this combination is usually taken more readily than a single-fruit juice. The fruit is from organic production, and the juice is GMO-free.

The added vitamin C is the one thing in the bottle that is not fruit. Vitamin C matters at this age for more than its own sake: it helps the body absorb iron from plant foods, which is why offering a vitamin-C drink alongside a cereal or vegetable meal is a long-standing piece of weaning advice.

It is a European baby drink from HiPP, intended to be diluted with drinking water and offered from a cup between meals or after a meal — not as a replacement for breast milk or infant formula, which stay the main drink at this age. The 500 ml bottle is vacuum-sealed, so you should hear a click the first time you open it.

Where it fits

Who is this juice for, and where does it fit?

It is for a baby from 4 months as a small, diluted drink alongside meals, and for the rest of the family as an ordinary organic juice. It is a drink, not a feed — breast milk or infant formula remains your baby's main source of nutrition.

In practice most families use it in two ways. Diluted one part juice to one part water, it is a mild first drink from a cup, which is also a useful way to practice cup drinking. Offered with or just after a cereal or vegetable meal, the vitamin C helps your baby absorb the iron in that meal — the pairing is the point.

Because it is low in acid and 100% juice, it is also the bottle people reach for when a child is off their food and drinking more than eating. The pack's own advice is to drink it between meals or after a meal, and to speak to your doctor about any additional nutrition your baby needs.

Looking for a different juice?

We stock the rest of the HiPP juice range too. HiPP Multifruit + Vitamin C is a multi-fruit blend, and HiPP Fruits + Iron Juice pairs fruit with added iron. For a drink with no fruit sugar at all, try HiPP Organic Chamomile Baby Tea.

How do you serve HiPP Organic Apple & Grape Juice?

Dilute it, and give it from a cup

HiPP's own guidance is that this juice can be diluted with drinking water, one part juice to one part water, and that it is best drunk between meals or after a meal. Our advice is to offer it from a cup rather than a bottle, and not to let your baby sip it slowly over a long period — prolonged contact between fruit acid and new teeth is what causes decay. Juice does not replace breast milk or infant formula.

1

Check the bottle

Make sure the bottle is intact before you open it. It is vacuum-sealed, so you should hear a click as the seal releases.

2

Shake before use

Give the bottle a shake each time. Natural juice settles, and a shake brings it back together.

3

Pour out what you need

Pour the amount you want into a separate cup or bottle. Never feed straight from the bottle — it contaminates what is left.

4

Dilute it

Add an equal measure of drinking water, one part juice to one part water, for a milder drink that is gentler on teeth.

5

Offer it from a cup

Serve it between meals or after a meal, at a sitting rather than sipped slowly across the morning.

6

Refrigerate the rest

Put the opened bottle in the fridge and use it within 3 days. An unopened bottle keeps at room temperature.

Pour the amount you want into a separate cup and never feed directly from the bottle. Store the opened bottle in the refrigerator and consume it within 3 days; keep unopened bottles at room temperature. Ask your doctor about any additional nutrition your baby may need. A varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important.
How much water

Diluted, undiluted, or alongside a meal?

All three are the same bottle. What changes is who is drinking it and what you want it to do, and HiPP's own guidance covers the first two of them.

How you serve it Who it suits Water added Why
One part juice to one part water A baby from 4 months Equal measure HiPP's own dilution. Milder on the stomach and gentler on new teeth
Undiluted Older children and adults None It is an ordinary 100% organic juice as it comes
With or just after a cereal or vegetable meal A baby already on solids Diluted, as above The vitamin C helps the body absorb the iron in that meal

HiPP's guidance for this bottle is that it can be diluted with drinking water, one part juice to one part water, and that it is best drunk between meals or after a meal. Offering it from a cup rather than a bottle, at a sitting rather than sipped slowly, is our own advice and not a manufacturer instruction.

Juice is a drink, not a feed

Breast milk or infant formula stays your baby's main source of nutrition at this age, and this juice sits alongside it rather than replacing any part of it. The pack's own advice is to speak to your doctor about any additional nutrition your baby needs.

Ingredients and more

Fruit juice 100% (apple juice* low in acid content from apple juice concentrate 77%, white grape juice* low in acid 23%), vitamin C.

* from organic production.

Allergens: none is declared for this juice. It contains no cereal, no milk and no nut.

Reproduced word for word from the ingredient declaration printed on this bottle. The panel printed on the bottle you receive is the one that governs, because manufacturers reformulate from time to time.

  • Organic
  • No added sugar
  • GMO-free
  • Rich in vitamin C

There is nothing in the bottle that is not fruit or vitamin C. The apple juice is made from apple juice concentrate and makes up 77% of the blend; the white grape juice makes up the remaining 23% and is what gives the drink its rounder, sweeter note. Both are low in acid, which is the reason this juice is labeled for babies rather than only for adults. No sugar is added — the sugars on the nutrition panel are the fruit's own. The added vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and helps the body absorb iron from a plant-based meal, which is why it is worth offering with a cereal or vegetable course rather than on its own.

Always read the panel printed on your own bottle before use, as manufacturers reformulate from time to time.

How far it goes

What a 500 ml bottle gives you

This listing is one 500 ml bottle. Because a baby's serving is diluted with an equal measure of water, the bottle goes twice as far for a baby as it does for an adult.

Served Juice used Arithmetic Drink it makes
Undiluted 500 ml 500 500 ml
Diluted one to one with water 500 ml 500 + 500 1,000 ml

How many drinks that is depends entirely on the size of cup you pour, and HiPP does not publish a serving size for this juice. Rather than invent one, the honest figure is the one above: the bottle holds 500 ml, and diluted as HiPP directs it makes 1,000 ml of drink.

No number of servings is claimed, because no serving size is published for this product. The more useful limit in practice is the opened fridge life: once opened, use the bottle within 3 days. An unopened bottle keeps at room temperature.

Questions parents ask

HiPP Organic Apple & Grape Juice: frequently asked questions

Do I need to dilute it?

HiPP's guidance is that it can be diluted with drinking water, one part juice to one part water, and for a baby that is what we would do. Pour the amount you want into a separate cup first, add the water, and serve it between meals or after a meal.

What age is it for?

From 4 months, as this listing states, and it is also perfectly ordinary juice for adults. Breast milk or infant formula stays your baby's main drink; juice is a small extra alongside meals.

Is there sugar in it?

No sugar is added. It is 100% fruit juice, so the sugars on the panel come from the apple and the grape themselves. White grape juice is naturally sweeter than apple, which is why the blend tastes mild rather than sharp.

What does "low in acid" mean?

Both juices in the blend are de-acidified, which makes them gentler on a baby's stomach and mouth than an ordinary juice. It is the reason this one carries a baby age at all.

Why is there vitamin C in it?

Vitamin C is added, and it does two useful things: it contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and it helps the body absorb iron from plant foods. That is why a vitamin-C drink alongside a cereal or vegetable meal is such a common piece of weaning advice.

How long does it keep once opened?

Store the opened bottle in the refrigerator and use it within 3 days. An unopened bottle keeps at room temperature. Check the bottle is intact before opening — it is vacuum-sealed and should click.

Can I give it in a bottle with a teat?

We would not. Offer it from a cup instead, and at a sitting rather than sipped slowly across the morning, because prolonged contact between fruit acid and new teeth is what causes decay.

Can it replace a milk feed?

No. Juice is a drink, not a feed. Breast milk or infant formula provides the nutrition at this age, and HiPP's own pack advice is to speak to your doctor about any additional nutrition your baby needs.

Written from the ingredient, preparation and storage declarations printed on this bottle. The 77 percent apple and 23 percent white grape blend, the low-acid statement, the added vitamin C, the one-to-one dilution and the three-day opened fridge life are all the pack's own. The vitamin C statements are the authorized wording for that nutrient and nothing further is claimed for it. The 4-month age and the 500 ml bottle size are taken from the product itself. HiPP publishes no serving size for this juice, so no number of servings is claimed anywhere on this page. Last reviewed 18 October 2026.

Shake before use. It can be diluted with drinking water (1:1). It is recommended to drink between meals or after a meal. Pour the required amount into a separate bottle or cup. Store the unused portion in the refrigerator; consume within 3 days. Store the unopened bottle at room temperature. Consult your doctor for additional nutrition.
