Kendamil Organic Stage 3 is a British organic toddler milk for children from 12 to 36 months, made from organic whole cow's milk, with no palm oil, no fish oil and no maltodextrin. This listing is a single 800g tin — about 196 to 200 fl oz of prepared milk, roughly 39 to 40 five-ounce servings.
This is a growing-up milk, not an infant formula. Your toddler's main nutrition now comes from the table: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. A toddler milk is a top-up for the gaps that a fussy eating phase leaves behind — iron, iodine, vitamin D, calcium and omega-3 — and it is designed to be given as one or two drinks a day alongside food, not to replace meals.
What separates it from most European baby formula at this stage is the starting material. Most formulas begin by skimming the fat out of milk and rebuilding it from vegetable oils. Kendamil starts with organic whole milk and leaves the natural milk fat in place, which is why the milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) survives into the tin. What's in Kendamil Organic Stage 3?
Organic whole milk and organic skimmed milk form the base, organic lactose is the only carbohydrate, the fat blend is organic sunflower, coconut and rapeseed oil with no palm oil, the prebiotic is GOS, and the DHA comes from microalgae rather than fish. The recipe is casein-dominant, which is normal for a toddler milk. For the exact per-100ml figures, read the panel on your tin — and please read why below.

Kendamil appears to have reformulated this tin, and the per-100ml figures currently published for it do not agree with one another. Kendamil's own page and one retailer ingredient sheet give one set of values; four other retailers give a different set, with calcium and DHA differing by a wide margin. We are not going to average two numbers to produce a third that is on no label anywhere. The nutrition panel printed on the tin you receive is the authority — check it, and if anything on it contradicts what you read here, trust the tin and tell us so we can correct this page.
One marketing phrase worth correcting while we are here: this formula is sometimes described as sugar-free. It is not. It contains organic lactose, which is a sugar — the naturally occurring milk sugar. What is accurate is that it contains no added sugar, no corn syrup, no maltodextrin and no starch, which is the claim that actually matters when you are comparing toddler milks on a shelf.

Why is Kendamil Organic Stage 3 made from whole milk instead of skimmed milk?
Because the fat is where the milk fat globule membrane lives. Kendamil builds this formula on organic whole milk and keeps its natural milk fat in place, rather than skimming the milk and rebuilding the fat entirely from vegetable oils — which is how most toddler milk is made.
Skimming is not done to harm anything; it is done because a fat blend you build yourself is easier to standardise than one that arrives in the milk. But the membrane that wraps each natural fat globule — a layer of phospholipids and proteins — does not survive that process. Starting from whole milk is slower and costs more, and on a toddler milk, where the competition is literally a bottle of plain milk from the shop, it is the clearest reason this tin exists at all.

Being straight with you: this tin loses two rows outright. Holle Stage 4 carries Demeter biodynamic certification, a stricter farming tier than organic alone, which Kendamil has no equivalent of. Kendamil Goat Stage 3 is HMO-fortified where this tin is GOS only, and if your toddler is unsettled on cow's milk, its A2 goat protein is a genuinely different proposition. We stock both. How do you prepare Kendamil Organic Stage 3?
Boil fresh water and let it cool to the temperature printed on your tin, pour the measured water into a clean bottle or cup first, then add 6 level scoops to 180ml of water for a 200ml drink — or the amount your tin's feeding chart gives — shake to dissolve, cool to a comfortable temperature and use within one hour.

Clean everything
Wash the bottle or cup, lid and teat thoroughly, and wash your hands before you start.

Boil fresh drinking water and let it cool to the temperature printed on this tin before you mix.

Cool, test, serve
Cool the drink, test a drop on your wrist so it feels comfortably warm, and serve straight away — many toddlers take this in an open or straw cup rather than a bottle.
Never use artificially softened water or water that has been boiled more than once. Prepare a fresh bottle for every feed, never reheat, never microwave, and discard anything left 1 hour after your baby starts drinking.
A note on water temperature. The mixing temperature for this milk is the one printed on your own tin — Kendamil gives it there rather than as a single figure across the range, and that is the instruction to follow. Where Kendamil sets it below 70°C, that is deliberate: hotter water damages the heat-sensitive vitamins this formula is built around.
Many health authorities, including the NHS and WHO, advise 70°C or hotter for any powdered formula, because powder is not sterile and that temperature kills bacteria that can occasionally be present. The difference matters most for newborns, premature babies, and babies with weakened immunity. If your baby is in one of those groups, ask your paediatrician or health visitor which to follow for your situation.

Toddler milk is a supplement to a varied diet, not a replacement for food, and it is not needed by every child — several paediatric bodies say so plainly. Prepare each drink fresh and follow the instructions printed on your tin exactly. This formula is made from cow's milk and is not suitable for children with a diagnosed cow's milk protein allergy. Breastfeeding is best for your baby — talk to your health visitor or doctor before starting or changing a formula.

Why give toddler milk instead of ordinary cow's milk at 12 months?
Plain cow's milk is a perfectly good drink for most toddlers and is cheaper. A growing-up milk is fortified with iron, iodine, vitamin D and DHA, which plain cow's milk does not supply in the same amounts, so it can help a toddler who eats a narrow diet or goes through a long fussy phase.
