Holle Berry Puppy Organic Fruit Puree Pouch, apple and peach with forest fruits, 100 g, from 8 months
Berry Puppy is a Holle organic fruit puree pouch for babies from 8 months. It holds 100 g of smooth puree made from five fruits: apple 70 percent, peach 12 percent, strawberry 10 percent, blueberry 5 percent and raspberry 3 percent. The fruit is Demeter quality and the pouch carries the EU Organic seal. There is no added sugar, no salt and no additive of any kind, and the screw cap reseals.
This is the berry one, and the 8-month age on it is the thing to notice first. Strawberry, blueberry and raspberry together make up 18 percent of the pouch. Berries are usually introduced later than apple and pear, which is why this pouch sits two months further up the range than the apple-and-pear ones, and why it is not a pouch to start weaning on.
Apple still does most of the work at 70 percent, so the puree is not sharp. Peach at 12 percent softens it further and adds the slightly perfumed note that stone fruit brings. The three berries are the top notes rather than the body: enough to colour the puree deep red and to taste clearly, not enough to make it tart.
Holle calls the berry component forest fruits, which is the European way of describing a strawberry, blueberry and raspberry mix. In this pouch the apple, peach and strawberry are declared as coming from biodynamic farming and the blueberry and raspberry from organic farming, which is a normal split when a smaller ingredient is harder to source biodynamically.
As a European baby food pouch this is a snack rather than a meal: something for between meals, for taking out of the house, or for the sweet end of a meal. It contains no cereal and no dairy, so it is gluten-free and lactose-free. At eight months most babies are managing lumpier textures, so a smooth pouch like this has usually become the convenient option rather than the main one.

Where it fits
Why this one says 8 months and the others say 6
The age on a Holle pouch tracks its ingredients, and berries are the reason this one is dated later. Strawberry and raspberry in particular are fruits most weaning guidance puts after the first months of solids, once a baby has met the simpler fruits singly and taken them well. Holle dates this pouch from 8 months and that is the age shown on this product.
In practice that makes Berry Puppy a second-phase pouch. If you are at the beginning of weaning, the apple, pear and banana pouches are where to start. Once those are routine and your baby has met berries on their own, this one becomes the obvious step up: five fruits, three of them new flavours, in a puree that is still smooth enough not to be a texture challenge at the same time.
It is worth introducing the berries separately first if they are new. Three new fruits arriving in the same spoonful is the opposite of how fruits are usually introduced, because if something disagrees you cannot tell which one it was. A few days apart each, then this pouch, is the straightforward order.
If your baby is not yet eight months
Start with a pouch built on the earlier fruits and come back to this one. Holle Apple Ant is apple, banana and pear only, from 6 months, and Holle Fennel Frog is pear, apple and fennel, also from 6 months. Each has its own age and its own ingredient list, so check the pouch you are buying.
Serving it
How to serve Berry Puppy
Read this before the first pouch
Feed the puree with a spoon and do not let your baby suck continuously from the pouch, which is linked to tooth decay. Keep the screw cap out of reach of children, because a small cap is a choking hazard. Serve food fresh and do not heat the puree in a microwave. Once opened, the pouch can be stored in the fridge for 2 days.

1
Check the pouch first
Look it over before opening. It should be sealed and flat rather than swollen, with no leaks, and the screw cap should still be firmly in place.
2
Warm it in water if you want to
Holle's instruction is to warm the pouch in hot water at a maximum of 50 degrees Celsius. Most babies are happy with it cool. Never use a microwave.
3
Unscrew the cap and put it away
Take the cap off and move it out of reach straight away. A loose screw cap on a table is exactly the kind of small object a crawling baby finds.
4
Squeeze a little onto a spoon
Squeeze some onto a spoon or into a small bowl. Berry puree stains, so a bib and a bowl rather than a hand-held pouch will save you a change of clothes.
5
Feed at your baby's pace
Offer a spoonful and wait. A smooth puree goes down fast if nobody is setting the pace, and slowing it down is how a baby learns to notice being full.
6
Reseal and refrigerate the rest
Screw the cap back on, put the pouch in the fridge and use it within 2 days. Feed from a spoon rather than returning a used spoon to the pouch.
Feed with a spoon and keep the cap out of reach. Continuous sucking from the pouch is linked to tooth decay. The screw cap is small enough to be a choking hazard. Warm only in water at up to 50 degrees Celsius, never in a microwave, and use an opened pouch within 2 days from the fridge.

Five fruits in one pouch is worth reading properly, because the three smallest are the ones that set the age on the pack.

Ingredients and allergens
What is in it
No added sugar, and that needs a footnote
No sugar is added to this pouch. Fruit contains sugar of its own, so the puree is sweet and the panel on the pack shows sugars. Those sugars come from the apple, peach and berries, not from anything put in. It is also why the spoon instruction is on the pack rather than buried in the small print.
Allergens: none declared on this pouch. It is gluten-free, egg-free and lactose-free. No cereal, milk, nut, soya or celery ingredient appears in the list. Read the panel printed on the pouch you receive, because recipes are revised from time to time and the pouch in your hand governs.
Reproduced from the ingredient declaration carried by this pouch. One authorised retailer's page for this product shows a pear, apple and fennel list and a nutrition panel that belong to a different pouch in the range; that page's own FAQ gives the list above. No per-100-gram nutrition panel is reproduced here, because the published figures for this pouch disagree between sources and we will not print a number we cannot stand behind.
Read plainly, that is five fruits and nothing else. No water, no starch, no thickener, no added vitamin, no concentrate, no colouring and no preservative appear in the list.

Not sucked from the pouch
We do not give a figure for how many pouches a baby gets through in a month. Holle publishes no feeding quantity for the pouches and no recommended number per day or per week, and the honest answer depends on how much milk and how much family food a particular baby is taking. Treat a pouch as a snack and let the rest of the diet set the number.
The 100 g net contents figure is the one shown for this product. No number of pouches per day, per week or per month is stated, because no such guidance is published for this product.

Questions parents ask
Frequently asked questions
From what age can my baby have Berry Puppy?
From 8 months, which is the age on this product. It is dated later than the apple and pear pouches because strawberry, blueberry and raspberry together are 18 percent of it.
Why is this one 8 months when others are 6?
The berries. Strawberry and raspberry are fruits that weaning guidance generally puts after the first simple fruits, so Holle dates the berry pouches from 8 months.
Can my baby eat straight from the pouch?
Holle's instruction is to feed the puree with a spoon and to avoid continuous sucking from the pouch, which is linked to tooth decay. Squeeze a little onto a spoon or into a bowl.
What is in it?
Apple 70 percent, peach 12 percent, strawberry 10 percent, blueberry 5 percent and raspberry 3 percent. Nothing else at all: no water, no starch, no added sugar, no additive.
Is there any added sugar?
No sugar is added. It tastes sweet because fruit contains sugar naturally, and the panel on the pack will show those sugars, but none of it has been put in.
Is it gluten-free?
Yes. There is no cereal in this pouch and it is gluten-free, egg-free and lactose-free. Some other Holle pouches do contain oats or spelt, so check the one you are buying.
Can I warm it up?
Yes. Holle's instruction is to warm the pouch in hot water at a maximum of 50 degrees Celsius. Never in a microwave. Most babies take it cool quite happily.
How long does an opened pouch keep?
Screw the cap back on and keep it in the fridge for up to 2 days. Serve the food fresh rather than keeping a part-used pouch longer than that.
Should I introduce the berries separately first?
It is the sensible order if they are new. Three berries arriving in one spoonful means you cannot tell which one disagreed if something does. A few days apart each, then this pouch.
Written from the ingredient declaration and feeding instructions carried by this pouch, corroborated against the information published for it by its European retailers. The age and the pack size shown on this page are taken from the product itself. No per-100-gram nutrition panel is reproduced, because one authorised retailer's panel for this product belongs to a different pouch in the range and the published figures disagree. No feeding quantity, daily portion or monthly consumption figure is stated, because Holle publishes none for the pouches. Last reviewed 15 October 2026.
