What it is

HiPP Organic Fruits and Iron Juice, 500 ml, from the 8th month

HiPP Organic Fruits + Iron is an organic fruit juice for babies from the 8th month and for adults, in a 500 ml bottle. It is a blend of apple, grape and rosehip from 100 percent organic fruit juices, with added iron at 0.9 mg and vitamin C at 10 mg per 100 ml. There is no added sugar, no preservatives, no artificial colors and no GMO ingredients.

The pairing of iron and vitamin C in one bottle is the whole design, and it is a sound one. Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron, so putting the two together means the iron in the drink is taken up better than iron arriving on its own would be. That is an authorized statement about vitamin C and it is the reason this bottle exists as a separate product from the plain fruit juices.

The fruit blend is unusual. Apple and grape are the sweet base, and rosehip is the third component, which is not a fruit most households would put in a juice. Rosehip is a traditional European source of vitamin C and it brings a distinctive, slightly tart character that stops an apple-and-grape juice tasting one-dimensional.

Iron is the nutrient this bottle is built around, and it has two authorized statements behind it: iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, and it contributes to the normal cognitive development of children. From around 6 months a baby's own iron stores start running down, which is why iron becomes the nutrient to watch at exactly the age HiPP places this product.

One thing we have chosen not to repeat. The product copy describes this juice as rich in iron. The measured figure on the panel is 0.9 mg per 100 ml, which does not reach the level that a rich-in wording normally requires, so we print the figure and the authorized statements instead of the descriptor. The iron is really there and it is paired with vitamin C to help absorb it; we would rather you judged it from the number.

As a European baby drink it is developed under European organic farming standards, and HiPP presents the bottle as suiting a diluted drink, a mealtime accompaniment or part of a mixed feeding routine.

Where it fits

Where this one fits in a baby's day

Beside a meal, and specifically beside an iron-bearing one. That is where a juice carrying both iron and vitamin C does something a plain juice does not: the vitamin C in the glass improves the uptake of iron both from the drink and from the food on the plate. A cereal, a lentil dish or a green vegetable meal is the natural partner.

The timing matters more than the amount. Iron from plant foods is absorbed poorly on its own, and vitamin C alongside it changes that measurably. The same juice drunk between meals is simply a sweet drink. Serving it with food is what turns it into a nutritional decision rather than a treat.

HiPP puts no upper age on it and describes the bottle as suitable for babies from the 8th month and for adults, which is why a 500 ml format exists. In practice one bottle covers a baby, a toddler and whoever else in the household wants a glass.

About dilution

HiPP's own description mentions serving this as a diluted drink. We have not been able to source a published dilution ratio or serving volume for this bottle, so we do not print one. Follow the guidance on the label. Water remains the everyday drink: a juice is an addition to it rather than a replacement, and at 6.6 g of sugars per 100 ml it belongs in a measured amount at a meal rather than left within reach.

Serving and storage

How to serve it

Ready to drink, with no published dilution ratio

This is a juice rather than a concentrate, so nothing has to be made up, though HiPP's own description mentions a diluted drink as one way to serve it. We have not been able to source a published serving volume, dilution ratio or after-opening storage window for this bottle, so none is printed below. Those figures are on the label and the bottle in your hand governs.

1

Check the bottle and the date

Look over the glass and the closure before you open it, and check the date on the label.

2

Pour a measured amount into a cup

Pour rather than serving from the bottle. You then know what your baby has had, and the rest of the bottle is not warmed and handled repeatedly.

3

Serve it with an iron-bearing meal

A cereal, a lentil dish or a green vegetable meal. The vitamin C in the juice increases iron absorption, so the pairing is the point of the product.

4

Keep it to a sitting

Offer it and take it away. A sweet drink taken slowly over a long period is the pattern dental guidance addresses, and it is a habit worth avoiding early.

5

Close it and refrigerate

Close the bottle after each use and keep it cold. We cannot quote a number of days, so follow the after-opening guidance printed on the label.

6

Keep water alongside

Water covers a baby's fluid needs completely. This juice is an addition to it and not a substitute.

A juice is not a milk feed and not water. Breast milk or infant formula remains a baby's main drink at this age, and water is the everyday one alongside solids. This bottle is neither. It carries 6.6 g of sugars per 100 ml, all of it from the fruit, so serve it in a cup, at a meal, in a measured amount, and see to regular dental care from the first tooth. If your baby's iron intake is a specific concern, that is a conversation with your pediatrician rather than something a juice settles.
Nutrition

Nutrition per 100 ml

This is the panel as it stands for this product. It reads as a juice should, with carbohydrate almost entirely sugar from the fruit, plus the two added nutrients.

Per 100 ml Amount
Energy 126 kJ / 30 kcal
Fat less than 0.5 g
Carbohydrate 6.9 g
of which sugars 6.6 g
Protein 0.1 g
Salt 0.05 g
Vitamin C 10 mg
Iron 0.9 mg

At 30 kcal and 6.6 g of sugars per 100 ml this is a lighter drink than a full-strength apple juice, which runs at roughly 49 kcal and 11 g. That makes it closer in strength to HiPP's multifruit juice drink than to its single-fruit apple juice.

The panel carried by this product is headed per 100 g; we have presented it per 100 ml, which is the usual basis for a drink, and the figures are otherwise unchanged. The product's panel also gives a sodium figure whose unit is inconsistent with its own salt figure, so we have not reproduced it rather than print a number we cannot reconcile or silently correct one. Figures are averages, as fruit panels always are.

Ingredients and allergens

What is in it

No allergen is declared, and nothing artificial is added

HiPP states this juice contains no added sugars, no preservatives, no artificial colors and no GMO ingredients. No allergen is declared for it on this product. Check the panel on your bottle before first use, because artwork is revised from time to time.

On the label

What the bottle is built from

100 percent organic fruit juices from apples, grapes and rosehips, with iron and vitamin C added. HiPP describes the fruit as sun-ripened and the product as developed under strict European organic farming standards.

We have not been able to source a verified, quantified declaration giving each fruit and its percentage for this bottle, so we do not print one. The full list is on the label. No fruit and no percentage has been guessed at to fill the gap, and if you would like the declaration added to this page, send us a photograph of the label and we will transcribe it.

Iron carries two authorized statements: it contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, and to the normal cognitive development of children. Vitamin C carries two of its own: it contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and it increases iron absorption. Nothing beyond those four statements is claimed for either nutrient here.

Rosehip is the third fruit in the blend and a traditional European source of vitamin C. We name it because it is in the product description; the vitamin C figure on the panel is for the vitamin as declared rather than for the rosehip specifically.

Read plainly, this is three fruit juices with two nutrients added. Apple and grape carry the sweetness, rosehip gives it character, and the iron and vitamin C are the reason to choose this bottle over a plain juice.

Yield

How much the bottle holds

A juice needs no preparation, so the yield is the volume in the bottle. At 500 ml that is about 16.9 US fluid ounces, and the two added nutrients scale with it.

Measure Figure Note
Bottle volume 500 ml The size carried by this product
In fluid ounces about 16.9 fl oz 500 ml converted
Prepared yield 500 ml Ready to drink, nothing is added
Iron in the bottle about 4.5 mg 0.9 mg per 100 ml across 500 ml
Vitamin C in the bottle about 50 mg 10 mg per 100 ml across 500 ml
Servings per bottle Not stated No published serving size could be sourced

How many servings that comes to depends on the amount you pour, and no published serving size for this bottle could be sourced, so we have not divided the volume into a count. If HiPP's mention of a diluted drink applies to how you serve it, the bottle will go further still.

The 500 ml volume is the size carried by this product. The fluid-ounce figure is that volume converted and rounded, and the iron and vitamin C totals are the stated per-100-ml figures multiplied by the stated volume. None of the three is a separate measurement.

Questions parents ask

Frequently asked questions

From what age can my baby have it?

From the 8th month, which is the age carried by this product. HiPP also describes it as suitable for adults, so one bottle covers the household.

Why iron and vitamin C together?

Because vitamin C increases iron absorption, which is an authorized statement about the vitamin. Putting the two in the same bottle means the iron is taken up better than it would be alone, and it is also why serving the juice with an iron-bearing meal gets more out of it than drinking it between meals.

Is it rich in iron?

We have not used that wording. The measured figure is 0.9 mg per 100 ml, which does not reach the level a rich-in descriptor normally requires, so we print the number and the authorized statements instead. Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, and to the normal cognitive development of children.

Does it contain added sugar?

No. HiPP states no sugars are added. The 6.6 g of sugars per 100 ml on the panel is the fruit's own.

What is rosehip doing in a baby juice?

It is the third fruit in the blend and a traditional European source of vitamin C. It also gives the juice a slightly tart character that apple and grape on their own would not have.

Does it need diluting?

HiPP's own description mentions serving it as a diluted drink, but we have not been able to source a published dilution ratio for this bottle, so we do not print one. Follow the guidance on the label.

How does it compare with the plain apple juice?

It is lighter. This bottle is 30 kcal and 6.6 g of sugars per 100 ml; HiPP's mild apple juice is roughly 49 kcal and 11 g. This one also carries iron, which the apple juice does not.

How much does the bottle hold?

500 ml, which is about 16.9 US fluid ounces. Across the whole bottle that is about 4.5 mg of iron and about 50 mg of vitamin C.

How long does it keep once opened?

Close it and keep it refrigerated. We cannot quote a number of days, because no published after-opening window for this bottle could be sourced. Follow the guidance on the label.

Written from the age, bottle size, nutrition panel and product statements carried by this product, reproduced above as they stand: the 8 month age and the suitability for adults, the 500 ml bottle, the apple, grape and rosehip blend from 100 percent organic fruit juices, the per-100-ml figures of 126 kJ and 30 kcal, 6.9 g carbohydrate, 6.6 g sugars, 0.1 g protein, 0.05 g salt, 10 mg vitamin C and 0.9 mg iron, and HiPP's statements that the juice carries no added sugars, preservatives, artificial colors or GMO ingredients and is developed under European organic farming standards. The iron and vitamin C statements are the authorized wording for those nutrients and nothing beyond them is claimed. The product copy describes the juice as rich in iron; that descriptor has not been reproduced, because the stated 0.9 mg per 100 ml does not reach the level such wording normally requires, and the page says plainly that the figure is printed instead. The product's own panel is headed per 100 g and has been presented per 100 ml, which the page states. The panel's sodium figure carries a unit inconsistent with its own salt figure and has been omitted rather than reproduced or corrected, which the page also states. The fluid-ounce figure and the per-bottle iron and vitamin C totals are the stated figures converted and multiplied. No quantified fruit declaration, no serving size, no dilution ratio and no after-opening storage window could be sourced for this bottle. Last reviewed 24 October 2026.

Shake before use. It can be diluted with drinking water (1:1). It is recommended to drink between meals or after a meal. Pour the required amount into a separate bottle or cup. Store the unused portion in the refrigerator; consume within 3 days. Store the unopened bottle at room temperature. Consult your doctor for additional nutrition.
