Children from 3 years of age receive 10 ml (1 measuring spoon) daily; the same dosage applies to adolescents and adults. The recommended daily consumption must not be exceeded. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Sanostol Multi-Vitamin Without Added Sugar syrup, 460 ml, for ages 3 and over
This is the without added sugar version of the German multivitamin syrup Sanostol, taken as a single 10 ml spoonful a day. It carries the same nine vitamins as the classic recipe, it is intended for children from 3 years as well as adolescents and adults, and this is the 460 ml bottle, which holds about 46 daily doses. It is a food supplement, not a medicine.
The difference between this bottle and the classic one is the sweetening and nothing else. The nine vitamins are identical and so are their amounts, so a dose of this delivers exactly what a dose of the classic syrup delivers. What changes is that sugar and glucose syrup are gone, replaced by sorbitol with the sweetener acesulfame K.
The nine nutrients are vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, niacin and pantothenic acid. Each 10 ml spoonful delivers between 42 and 100 percent of the European reference amount for them, so one dose is a meaningful fraction of a day rather than a token. Vitamin D is the one at 100 percent, and vitamin C is the largest single addition at 60 mg.
One point of precision is worth making, because the label wording invites a misreading. Without added sugar is not the same as sugar-free. Sanostol states that the product naturally contains sugar, which comes from the orange and grapefruit juice concentrates in it. What the claim means is that no sugar has been put in on top of that.
What it is for is narrow and worth stating plainly. Sanostol is a vitamin supplement for children to use alongside food, not instead of it. The case for it is the stretch when a balanced, vitamin-rich diet is genuinely hard to maintain: a child who rejects whole categories of fruit and vegetables, a run of colds through a school term, or a stressful period where meals slip. With vitamins A, D, B6 and C it contributes to the normal function of the immune system. It does contain a malt extract made from BARLEY, so it is not suitable if you are avoiding gluten.

Who it is for
Who this bottle is and is not for
The age on this product is 3 years and over, and that is a floor set by the dose rather than by taste. One 10 ml spoonful is the same measure for a three-year-old, a fifteen-year-old and an adult, which is what makes it a single bottle a whole household can share. At one dose a day the 460 ml size lasts about six and a half weeks.
The reason to choose this bottle over the classic is the sweetening. If you are keeping added sugar out of a child's day, or you would rather a daily spoonful of syrup did not contribute to it, this is the version to buy. The trade is the sorbitol, which is what sits behind Sanostol's notice that excessive consumption may have a laxative effect.
It is not for under-threes. If you are looking for a vitamin for a one- or two-year-old, this is the wrong bottle and the dose does not simply scale down. Sanostol makes a separate preparation for children from 1 year, sold here as Multi-Sanostol Syrup 300 g, and a without added sugar version of that one as Multi-Sanostol Syrup Without Added Sugar, 260 g.
If you need iron as well
This bottle contains no iron. Sanostol Multi-Vitamin Plus Iron, 460 ml is a different product with iron added, intended for children from 6 years, adolescents and adults, and often chosen during a growth phase or on a vegetarian or vegan diet. It is also built on sorbitol rather than sugar.
How to take it
Dosage and how to give it
Read this before the first spoonful
This product contains vitamin A. Sanostol states that pregnant women should seek medical advice before taking it, and that other supplements containing vitamin A should not be taken alongside it. The recommended daily amount must not be exceeded. Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. A food supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep it out of the reach of small children.

1
Use the spoon in the pack
The dose is 10 ml, and the measuring spoon supplied is what makes that 10 ml. A kitchen teaspoon is roughly 5 ml, so measuring by eye is the easiest way to get this wrong in either direction.
2
One dose a day, and only one
Children from 3 years, adolescents and adults all take 10 ml daily. There is no second dose and no larger dose for an adult. The recommended daily amount must not be exceeded.
3
Pick a time and keep it
Any time of day works. A supplement only does anything if it is taken consistently, so attaching it to a fixed daily point, usually breakfast, is worth more than the timing itself.
4
Give it straight or stirred in
It is a syrup and can be taken directly from the spoon. If that is a fight, it stirs into a drink or onto food without a problem.
5
Close it and keep it cool
Re-close the bottle after each dose and store it away from heat, direct sunlight and moisture, out of reach of small children.
6
Use it within 12 weeks of opening
The shelf life after first opening is 12 weeks. At one dose a day a 460 ml bottle takes about six and a half weeks to finish, so a single person will comfortably be inside that window.

Do not exceed one 10 ml spoonful a day, and note that excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. Both are Sanostol's own notices for this product. Because of the vitamin A, Sanostol states that pregnant women should seek medical advice before taking it and that other vitamin A supplements should not be taken alongside it.
Nutrition
The nine vitamins, and how much is in a spoonful
These are the amounts in one 10 ml dose, with each shown as a percentage of the European daily reference amount. They are identical to the classic Sanostol syrup, because the vitamins are the part that does not change between the two recipes. Vitamin D is the only one at 100 percent; the rest sit between 42 and 75 percent, which is the shape of a supplement designed to top a diet up rather than to replace it.

Reference amounts are those of the Food Information Ordinance, as stated for this product. RE is retinol equivalent, TE is tocopherol equivalent and NE is niacin equivalent. No iron is in this product. The nutrition panel printed on the bottle you receive is the complete figure set and governs.
What the label says these do
Four of the nine carry the immune claim: vitamins A, D, B6 and C contribute to the normal function of the immune system. That is the claim Sanostol makes for this syrup, and it is the reason the product is usually bought.
The remaining nutrients are listed above with their amounts, without function statements, because this product's own label does not make any for them.
Before you buy
Allergen, the sugar claim, and what to check
Contains BARLEY, and therefore gluten
This syrup is made with a malt extract from BARLEY. Barley is a gluten-bearing cereal, so it is not suitable on a gluten-free diet. No gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan or vegetarian claim is made for this product.
Three things in the panel are worth knowing before you buy. The first is the barley-derived malt extract above. The second is what the sugar claim actually means: no sugar is added, but Sanostol states the product naturally contains sugar from the juice concentrates, so this is a without-added-sugar product rather than a sugar-free one. The third is that the bulk and the sweetness come from sorbitol with acesulfame K, and sorbitol is what Sanostol's laxative notice is about.
This is the ingredient panel Sanostol publishes for the without added sugar version of Sanostol Multi-Vitamine, in the order it is printed, translated from the German. It differs from the classic panel in that sugar and glucose syrup are absent and sorbitol and acesulfame K are present. The panel printed on the bottle you receive is the one that governs.

How long it lasts
How many doses a 460 ml bottle holds
A syrup dosed once a day is easy to plan, because the arithmetic is one division. The thing to read alongside it is the 12-week shelf life after opening, which is the real limit on a large bottle shared by nobody.

Sanostol makes the without added sugar syrup in 230 ml and 460 ml bottles. One person taking one dose a day empties this 460 ml bottle in about 46 days, which is inside the 12-week window after opening. Two people sharing it halves that.
Doses are calculated from the stated 10 ml daily amount and the bottle volume, and the arithmetic is shown so you can check it. No 780 ml bottle is made of the without added sugar version; that size exists for the classic syrup only. The 12-week shelf life after first opening is this product's own stated figure; Sanostol's product page does not publish one, so follow the date printed on your bottle if it differs.

Questions parents ask
Frequently asked questions
How much do I give, and how often?
10 ml once a day, measured with the spoon supplied in the pack. That is the dose for children from 3 years, for adolescents and for adults alike. The recommended daily amount must not be exceeded.
Is it sugar-free?
No, and the distinction matters. No sugar is added to it, but Sanostol states that the product naturally contains sugar, which comes from the orange and grapefruit juice concentrates. It is a without-added-sugar product rather than a sugar-free one.
What is the difference between this and the classic Sanostol?
The sweetening, and nothing else that matters. The nine vitamins and their amounts are identical. The classic recipe is built on sugar and glucose syrup; this one is built on sorbitol with the sweetener acesulfame K.
From what age can it be taken?
From 3 years. It is not intended for younger children and the dose does not scale down. For a child from 1 year, Sanostol makes a separate preparation, sold here as Multi-Sanostol Syrup 300 g.
Does it contain gluten?
Yes. It is made with a malt extract from BARLEY, which is a gluten-bearing cereal, so it is not suitable on a gluten-free diet.
Why does the label mention a laxative effect?
Because the syrup is built on sorbitol, and sorbitol in quantity can have that effect. Sanostol's own notice is that excessive consumption may have a laxative effect, which is a reason to keep to the one spoonful a day.
Can I take it while pregnant?
Sanostol states that, because the product contains vitamin A, pregnant women should seek medical advice before taking it, and that other vitamin A supplements should not be taken alongside it. Ask your doctor rather than starting it.
How long does it keep once opened, and how many doses are in it?
The shelf life after first opening is 12 weeks. The bottle holds 46 doses at one 10 ml dose a day, which is about six and a half weeks for one person, so a single user finishes it well inside that window.
Does it contain iron?
No. For a Sanostol syrup with iron in it, Sanostol Multi-Vitamin Plus Iron is the one, and it is from 6 years rather than 3.
Rebuilt from a legacy body that carried inline styling, exclamation marks and no ingredient panel, nutrition table, dosage table or allergen statement. Written from Sanostol's own published product information for the without added sugar version of Sanostol Multi-Vitamine on sanostol.de, which supplies the ingredient panel, the per-10-ml nutrition figures, the 10 ml daily dose for children from 3 years, adolescents and adults, the two bottle sizes, the immune-function claim for vitamins A, D, B6 and C, the vitamin A advice for pregnancy, the naturally-contains-sugar statement and the laxative notice. The 12-week shelf life after opening is this product's own stated figure, because Sanostol's page does not publish one. Dose counts are arithmetic on the stated 10 ml dose and the bottle volume. A claim that the product is sugar-free is not made, because the manufacturer states it naturally contains sugar. Last reviewed 17 October 2026.
